We must “be instant in season and out” ready to “speak the truth in love” to others because their souls are more important than our comfort zone and our own self-centered preoccupations and desire to guard our man-pleasing reputations."
- Ephesians 4:15, 2 Timothy 4:2 -
If we don’t deny ourselves and its incessant desire to pridefully rule over our lives, we deny Yahshua (Jesus) His rightful place of dominion over, in, and through our lives. The Messiah said, “… if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all peoples to Myself.” (John 12:32) He was referring to the fact that He was going to be resurrected to heaven but also to the fact that once He was resurrected He would send His “Helper” so that He could live His resurrected life through our blood redeemed purchased lives. (John 14:26) Yahshua (Jesus) entrusted us with His heart of infinite love to bring the truth to the perishing souls that our Heavenly Father puts in our path. We must “be instant in season and out” ready to “speak the truth in love” to others because their souls are more important than our comfort zone and our own self-centered preoccupations and desire to guard our man-pleasing reputations. (Ephesians 4:15, 2 Timothy 4:2) So often we hear in our own minds the flesh saying, “what will they think of me?” If we are dead to our flesh we will recognize those words as an arch enemy to the Spirit, because “it is not I who lives but Messiah who lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20) All we are to care about is that they have an opportunity, at any cost, to be introduced to Yahshua (Jesus) and eternal life through His life exalted in and through our self denied lives. The Savior’s true ambassadors are continuing His work of utmost love to warn people to escape the wrath of God that is coming upon all sin and sinners and “unless they repent they will all perish”. (Romans 1:18, Luke 13:3) They proclaim, “the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel” because the end of the age is near, turn to self control and righteousness to uphold and walk in the truth. (Mark 1:15) With faithfulness, the “born again" remnant continues to perpetuate by His Spirit Yahshua’s (Jesus’s) “great commission” to teach others everything that He had commanded them. (Matthew 28:16-20)
Be honest with Him. Be honest with yourself. Are you dying to your flesh so that you can live in the Spirit and increasingly bear more of the likeness of the Savior?
- See Romans 8:13 -
Let us get down to reality, time is running out! Are you ready and well equipped with faith that you will be found courageous and “enduring to the end”, following Yahshua (Jesus) on “the straight and narrow path”? (Matthew 10:22, 7:14) Are you learning “to walk as He walked”, “gathering with Him” in the harvest field at the end of the age? (1 John 2:6, Matthew 12:30) Our Savior amplified this, “… The one who does not gather with Me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30) Be honest with Him. Be honest with yourself. Are you dying to your flesh so that you can live in the Spirit and increasingly bear more of the likeness of the Savior? Yahshua (Jesus) said, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword” that divides. (Matthew 10:34) When we live according to His uncompromised gospel truth, He becomes exalted and we decrease, becoming more spiritual and less recognizable to others who have known us in the past. We are now Messiah’s own, imploring others to come to salvation through faith in His atoning blood. (see 2 Corinthians 5:20) This becomes the sword Yahshua (Jesus) spoke of that divides family members, friends, and loved ones, because they are still in the flesh and living for the world. They no longer recognize you because of your set apart holy lifestyle, that is “Messiah in you, the hope of eternal glory” in His Kingdom. (Colossians 1:27) “In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you; but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.” (1 Peter 4:4-5)
If we do not walk as the Messiah walked we are following “another Yahshua (Jesus)” because we have not “denied ourselves and picked up our cross. If we don’t deny our flesh, we deny Yahshua (Jesus) His rightful rulership over our redeemed ransomed lives.”
- 2 Corinthians 11:4, Matthew 16:24 -
It is written, “Choose you this day whom you are going to serve.” (Joshua 24:15) Will you consider others as more important than yourself in the hopes that they come to know the Savior in and through your surrendered, self denied, obedient life? How selfish, how self centered, how self seeking can we be to have received the utmost gift of eternal life and to keep it to ourselves because we do not want to pay the price to walk as Yahshua (Jesus) walked? Do not be self justified and self righteous in a superficial faith that suits and indulges the flesh but denies the Spirit. The flesh by nature is in opposition to the Spirit. (See Galatians 5:17) The truly “born again” are “working out their salvation”, “fighting the good fight of faith” against their enemy number one, which is the flesh nature with all of its inherited sin and desires for this dark doomed world. (John 3:3, Philippians 2:12, 1 Timothy 6:12) If we do not walk as the Messiah walked we are following “another Yahshua (Jesus)” because we have not “denied ourselves and picked up our cross.” (2 Corinthians 11:4, Matthew 16:24) To repeat, If we don’t deny our flesh, we deny Yahshua (Jesus) His rightful rulership over our redeemed ransomed lives. This is why Paul says in the last days there will be a time of great lawlessness, “for people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, … lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5) They deny the power of the Holy Spirit to rule and reign over their redeemed lives. Where do you fit in this reality? “Don’t be deceived, Yahveh God will not be mocked.” (Galatians 6:7) If you are sowing to your flesh that you have allowed to live to satisfy its worldly desires, you have become an enemy to Yahshua (Jesus). (Galatians 6:8) “Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” (James 4:4) The fruit of your flesh is not the fruit of the Spirit, and it will “testify against you at the judgment seat.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
