Part 12: The Name Above All Names

The Name Above All Names

The disciples asked the Master, “Teach us to pray” (Lk 11:1). In response, YAHshua instructed them: “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name’” (Mt 6:9 — cf. Lk 11:2). YAHshua was teaching that His Father’s name was to be kept distinctly separate and revered above all other names and titles. The psalmist declared, “you have exalted above all things your name and your word” (Ps 138:2 NIV — emphasis added). Wherever the holy Scriptures have been accepted throughout the world, the universal proclamation “HalleluYAH!” (praise be to YAHveh) has been accepted and integrated into that national dialect. Therefore, His name and His Word have been exalted in spite of Satan’s schemes. As hard as the crafty Serpent tries to obliterate His name and the glory due it, he did not AND WILL NOT totally succeed—HALLELU-YAH(veh)!

Power and Protection in His Name

When Messiah prayed for His beloved disciples and those who would follow, He said, “I manifested Thy name to the men whom Thou gavest Me out of the world; … and they have kept Thy word” (Jn 17:6). The psalmist David wrote, “May YAHveh answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!” (Ps 20:1) and again, “Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you” (Ps 5:11 NIV — emphasis added). And Solomon added, “The name of YAHveh is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe” (Pr 18:10).

Messiah understood the power of protection in His Father’s name; when He prayed concerning His beloved disciples, He said, “Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name—the name You gave Me—so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name You gave Me …” (Jn 17:11-12 NIV — emphasis added). YAHshua continued, “Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, … behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me; …” (Jn 17:24).

When Moses asked to see the Almighty’s glory, YAHveh proclaimed His name two times. Could these two proclamations of His glorious name be symbolic? The first proclamation was of His deliverance of Israel through Moses; the second was of His ultimate deliverance of both Jews and Gentiles through YAHshua, the One who comes in His name. His name and His glory are inseparably ONE, just as YAHveh and YAHshua are inseparably one.

Because of the Serpent’s shifty strategies working in history through the doctrines of Jewish and Gentile men, YAHveh’s name has not been exalted as the name above all names. It has been hidden, suppressed, and substituted rather than proclaimed and glorified as He sovereignly ordained”

YAHshua ended His high priestly prayer in this manner: “O righteous Father, … I have made Thy Name known to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith Thou didst love Me may be in them, and I in them” (Jn 17:25-26). YAHshua’s prayer is still being answered as He continues to reveal the Father’s memorial-name to a remnant He is preparing, which will bear it with honor. The Father and the Son grieve over the loss of His holy memorial-name. The Holy Spirit also laments over the substituting of the divine name with common titles shared with other deities and objects of worship. His holy name must be exalted in order for His glory to pour out upon individual lives and flow as a river of life upon the earth. YAHveh says, “I am YAHveh; that is My name; I will not give My glory to another [or another name], …” (Isa 42:8). Because of the Serpent’s shifty strategies working in history through the doctrines of Jewish and Gentile men, YAHveh’s name has not been exalted as the name above all names. It has been hidden, suppressed, and substituted rather than proclaimed and glorified as He sovereignly ordained. “For nothing is hidden that shall not become evident, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light. Therefore take care how you listen; …” (Lk 8:17-18).

True Light in the True Name

… Repentance for forgiveness of sins would be PROCLAIMED IN HIS NAME to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem”
— Luke 24:47

YAHshua, “… the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man … came to His own …” (Jn 1:9-11); and said, “I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; …” (Jn 5:43); and “He who does not honor the Son [and His name] does not honor the Father [and His name] …” (Jn 5:23); “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of YAHveh, even to those who believe in his name …” (Jn 1:12); “… that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be PROCLAIMED IN HIS NAME to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” (Lk 24:47)

To the disciples who believed in His name, He gave the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father [YAHveh] and the Son [YAHshua] and the Holy Spirit [Ruach HaKodesh], teaching them to observe all that I commanded You; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Mt 28:19-20). This small band of close followers were to be ambassadors of reconciliation between sinful man and YAHveh, the holy God. As faithful disciples, they were to continue with YAHshua’s work of proclaiming His Father’s name to others who would, in turn, worship YAHveh and glorify His memorial-name.

As we approach the very end of the age, He continues to proclaim His Father’s name. His Spirit asks you to receive the true light that comes in His true name. Will you deny His name, His power, and the fullness of the light of His countenance because you prefer to walk in the dim light of the doctrines of men that have eclipsed YAHshua?”

How blessed are the people that know the joyful sound! O YAHveh, they walk in the light of Thy countenance. In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And by Thy righteousness they are exalted. (Ps 89:15-16)

Praise be to YAHveh who gives light to those who have walked in the dim light of men’s doctrines and traditions. He gives us a choice; as prophesied, the spirit of Elijah (EliYAH) is come, asking the professing religious masses, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions?” (1Ki 18:21).

Since YAHveh IS the Father and YAHshua IS the Son, and since their holy names ARE from eternity’s thresholds, spoken by the mouth of the Almighty, proclaimed by the angel Gabriel, and declared by the Messiah, then why not worship Him—THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES—in spirit and truth?—HALLELU-YAH(veh)!

Let those who love Thy salvation

say continually,

“YAHveh be magnified!”

(Ps 40:16)

… your name and renown

are the desire of our hearts.

… your name alone

do we honor.

(Isa 26:8, 13 NIV)
