Yahveh, the God Who Answers By Fire

Yahveh, the God Who Answers By Fire

Yahveh will again send “Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of Yahveh [the Lord}” (Malachi 4:5). Today, in the apostasy that prevails and permeates much of “Christianity,” The Holy One of Israel’s altar lies in ruins; but Elijah then, and now, will rebuild that altar. “Elijah took twelve stones according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob…. So with the stones he built an altar in the name of Yahveh, and he made a trench around the altar…. Then he arranged the wood and cut the ox in pieces and laid it on the wood. And he said, “Fill four pitchers with water and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood.” And he said, “Do it a second time,” …and “a third time,” and they did it…” (1 Kings 18:31-35).

Then Elijah prayed: “O Yahveh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel…. Answer me, O Yahveh … that this people may know that You, O Yahveh, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again. Then the fire of Yahveh fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “Yahveh, He is God; Yahveh, He is God” (1 Kings 18:36-39).

The Holy One of Israel proved to be the God who answers by fire; the fire of His Presence. We need that fire. It burns up the tares, chaff, and all that is unholy in our lives if we will yield ourselves and confess our sins. Our Holy God will burn it up as an acceptable sacrifice.

Elijah said to Israel, and he says now to the people throughout the four corners of the earth, “How long will you hesitate [how long will you waiver] between two opinions?” (1 Kings 18:21). How long will you waiver between truth and tradition, religion and righteousness? How long will you waiver between what Yahveh God has made and what man has made? If Yahveh, the Holy One of Israel, is your Elohim (is your God) worship Him, obey Him, and love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Bring Yahveh the Father and Yahshua the Son the praise, honor, and glory due their holy names.

“The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked” (1 John 2:6). We are to walk in the footsteps of Yahshua (Jesus), upholding Torah, the law, the Commandments, the righteous statues of the Almighty as His Holy Spirit will give us the power, wisdom, and joy to do. Yahshua Messiah said, “If you love Me, you will obey Me,” Be blessed in your obedience.
