Yahveh God Judges

Yahveh God Judges

In the books of Joel, Zechariah, and Revelation, we read about all the nations being drawn together by Yahveh (the LORD). He is doing it now. The nations are being stirred up as a war club in the hand of the Almighty to accomplish His purpose. “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem…” (Joel 3:1). These are the times we are in. Israel has come back to their land after almost two thousand years of dispersion. “…Can a land be born in a day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? [Yes, Israel was.] Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?” says Yahveh…” (Isaiah 66:8-9). The Almighty is doing this. Israel has come back. He is restoring her fortunes.

Yahveh says, I will enter into judgment with the nations in the valley of Jehoshaphat on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land”
— Joel 3:2

He says “in those days [these days] … I will gather all nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat [which means Yahveh judges]” (Joel 3:1-2). He is going to bring all the enemies of Israel against her and He is going to judge her enemies. He will contend with those who contend with her. “…Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land” (Joel 3:2). [You dare touch MY inheritance, the apple of My eye, says Yahveh God, and you will be judged and destroyed.] “They have divided up My land … and sold the sons of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks in order to remove them far from their territory [their homeland] … behold, I am going to arouse them from the place where you have sold them, and return your recompense on your head” (Joel 3:2,6-7).

In many ways, the Jews who come out of captivity and go into “Christianity” with its Hellenized Greek root are “sold to the Greeks.” The only holy root is Hebraic. It is the only language that does not come from the tower of Babel and its Babylonian root system. As Yahveh (the LORD) says in Zechariah, “I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.” We have been as Israel, prisoners in a waterless pit, in a “religious system” where the river of life from Heaven’s throne room has not flowed. Useless, polluted, man-tainted waters have flown, and that is all we imbibed when we were in that system. But He says He will free us from the waterless pit (see Zechariah 9:11).

The Jews were to be witnesses to the Gentiles that Yahveh is the one true living God; that is part of their divinely given mandate from the Holy One of Israel. “Thus says Yahveh of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all the nations [Gentiles] will grasp the garment [tassels on the tallit] of a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you’” (Zechariah 8:23). This serves as an inspiration for all those who long for the great ingathering of Jewish and Gentile souls into the Messianic kingdom, which is truly Hebraic in nature. There is one God, and He the Mighty One of Israel, there is one Savior, who the Jewish Messiah, and there is one heavenly messianic kingdom that is “coming down from heaven”, whose twelve gates, have written on them “the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel” and on the twelve foundation stones of the New Jerusalem are written, “the twelve names of the twelve [Jewish] apostles of the Lamb” (Revelation 21:2,12-14).

…Yahveh roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble. But Yahveh (the LORD) is a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel”
— Joel 3:16

“Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare a war; rouse the mighty men! Let all the soldiers draw near, let them come up! Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am a mighty man.” Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves there. Bring down, O Yahveh, Your mighty ones. Let the nations be aroused and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. …Yahveh roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble. But Yahveh (the LORD) is a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel. Then you will know that I am Yahveh your God, dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. So Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will pass through it no more. …And a spring will go out from the house of Yahveh to water the valley of Shittim. Egypt will become a waste, and Edom [Esau’s descendants, arch enemies of Israel] will become a desolate wilderness, because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, in whose land they have shed innocent blood. But Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem for all generations” (Joel 3:9-12,16-20).

“I will avenge [pardon] their blood [guilt] which I have not avenged [pardoned], for Yahveh the LORD dwells in Zion” (Joel 3:21).

Israel’s bloodguilt, their ultimate rebellion in not receiving Messiah will be pardoned, and Israel’s enemies will be obliterated. Much of Scripture revolves around this issue. “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” (1 Corinthians 10:12). In Romans, the Almighty is speaking regarding the natural Jewish branches and the engrafted Gentile branches, “For Yahveh has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all” (Romans 11:32). Mercy through the blood of Yahshua (Jesus) will be shown to humble repentant hearts that tremble at His word, revere His righteous decrees, and repent for the transgression of His Law. And then, through the upholding power of His Spirit, they will walk according to His righteous ways. We have a little time to get it right—very little time.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, You have not changed. You are the same God who spoke Your Commandments into existence, the same God who spoke blessings and curses for all who walk accordingly. Forgive me, Yahveh. I shift and I lean on my own understanding. I fall prey to human doctrines; but Yahveh, You have not changed. You call me to come up higher and to escape the judgments that are coming against Your enemies. Your very enemies who despise Your righteousness and who obliterate and render as null and void Your Commandments.
