“Judge Yourself Rightly”

1 Corinthians 11:31

Love to Yahshua (Jesus) equals obedience. You may say, “I don’t need to be ablaze and become a religious fanatic; He knows my heart.” Yes, indeed, He knows your heart; that is the whole issue. You are “confessing Him with your lips”, but going through your “religious motions that deny His power”, which keeps Him from being made known through you to others (Matthew 15:8, 2 Timothy 3:5). This is why we have not become His mighty instruments and disciples.

He’s a “consuming fire” who burns up the chaff, tares, and the flesh in our lives (Hebrews 12:29). We are supposed to be going from “glory to glory”, from victory over our flesh to more victory over our flesh, where there is less of ourselves and more of Yahshua (Jesus) (2 Corinthians 3:18, John 3:30). If we have any might or strength of our own that we boast in, there is a curse on us. “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength …” (Jeremiah 17:5). But blessed is the person who acknowledges that “the flesh is as nothing” to Yahveh (the LORD) (John 6:63). All we are to boast in is that we know, love, and understand Him; anything short of this is pure hypocrisy (see Jeremiah 9:24).

Yahveh God is beseeching us to humble ourselves. He wants us to “judge ourselves rightly” so that He does not have to humble and judge us (1 Corinthians 11:31). Wouldn’t you prefer that? Because He loves us, He’s going to have to bring us to humility to purify us. Don’t let the refiner’s fire of truth get on your nerves, He loves you so much, He doesn’t want you to perish in your flesh and self-righteous deception. So choose this day, will you judge yourself? Will you search your own heart? Will you “humble yourself in the sight of Yahveh God, or are you just going to wait and test Him and be a “scoffer walking after your own lusts”? (James 4:10, 2 Peter 3:3)
