The Leadership of Righteous Parents

The Leadership of Righteous Parents

“Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth” (Genesis 6:10). “Now the earth was corrupt in the site of Yahveh, and the earth was filled with violence. Yahveh God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then the Lord said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. Make for yourself an ark … everything that is on the earth shall perish. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.’ … Thus Noah did; according to all that Yahveh commanded him, so he did” (Genesis 6:11-14,17-18,22).

I am sure that Noah’s sons followed suit and were recipients of salvation because they obeyed their parents who were obeying God. This was not just some idle work and demands of parents; these are parents who were in touch with the Creator of heaven and earth, who were striving to be blameless, righteous and holy. They had a leadership role to bring the truth of Yahveh’s will and Commandments to their children.

If you are a parent, you should teach His Commandments diligently to your children; and children, you should obey your mother and father, for it is a safeguard. It is a hierarchy of eternal success if we do it God’s way. The world’s way says, “I’m smarter than my parents, and I don’t need to listen to them.” But in the case of the parents who are striving to have an intimate, profound relationship with the Almighty, you do well to listen to them. As parents, we do well if our example and leadership point our children to do what is right in Yahveh’s sight so they will be in that ark of safety with us.

“Thus Noah did; according to all that Yahveh commanded him, so he did. Then God said to Noah, ‘Enter the ark, you and your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time’” (Genesis 6:22–7:1). We need to do everything to be like Noah, who did everything that His Holy God commanded him to do. He and his family were safe and secure in the presence of Yahveh in the ark that was built to protect them and see them safely to the other side, into His eternal kingdom.

There was no other place of refuge but the ark that Noah built through Yahveh’s commandments and directions. He makes one way of escape, and then the door is closed. Humble yourself in the sight of God and, in due time, halleluYAH, He will lift you up! He will lift you up as He did Noah and the ark. For forty days, the flood kept coming on the earth and, as the waters increased, they lifted the ark high above the earth. As the judgments come, those who are in the safety of the ark of Yahshua (Jesus) will be lifted higher and higher into His presence. What will kill and destroy the wicked that have evil inclinations will lift us higher and higher into the very protection of our Savior!
